A custom form is a collection of information fields that you can add to items in CompetencyCore. Create and edit forms to add customized information to: competencies, jobs, plans, and learning resources. The fields types you can choose for your fields are:
- Numeric Textbox
- Numeric Textbox
- Large Textarea
- Date Picker
- Year Picker
- Color Picker
- Radio Button*
- Select List*
- Multi-Select List*
These custom forms are usually used to hold more information than the default format will allow, such as additional fields on plans or learning resources. Custom forms are also used on other custom forms (for example, to create select lists).
Step 1. Go to administration
Click the gear icon on the top right of your screen.
Step 2. Open custom forms
Click the expand icon beside Features in the Administration menu and choose Forms.
Step 3. Click create
Point to the gear icon on the top right of the page and choose Create Custom Form.
Step 4. Enter details
Enter a name and description. Leave the status enabled.
Step 5. Select the service and sub-service
Select the service and sub-service where you'll use this form and click Save. If you're creating a form using one of the field types marked with an asterisk *, select Custom Forms as the Service and Metadata as the Subservice.
Step 6. Create a field
Scroll to the bottom of the page. If you've already created form fields, select them in the Existing Form Fields table to add them to your form. To create a new field, point to the gear icon in the Attach Form Fields table and choose Create Field.
Step 7. Enter the field details
Enter a name and description and select a field type. Enter the maximum number of characters (for a textbox or textarea field type). Select whether or not the field is mandatory and click Save. If you're creating a form using one of the field types marked with an asterisk *, select the textbox field type.
Step 8. Add the field to the form
Scroll to the Custom Fields table (the field is already selected) and click Add.
