Step 1. Go to canvas
Click Item Bank or Assessment in the sidebar. Select a folder in the index to open it and click the plus icon on the top right of the page or click the name of an existing item/assessment name to edit it. The toolbar and canvas opens on a new page.
Step 2. Drag component
Click and drag the Matching icon from the toolbar onto the canvas. If you're on the Assessment canvas, click the Components tab in the toolbar first to access the Matching icon.
Step 3. Add title
This step is optional. Click the title text to open an overlay. Enter the title of the question and set the style for the text (see the How do I add text in Touchstone to learn more). Then click Save.
Step 4. Select images
Click the link in an image placeholder to open a file browser. Select an image to insert it in the placeholder on your canvas. Repeat this step for each image placeholder. Repeat this step for each of the image pieces below the main image.
Step 5. Set properties
Click the Matching component and then click the pencil icon that appears to open an overlay. Select the puzzle dimensions if you want to adjust the default 4x4. You can choose 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, or 5x5. Enter the correct matches and click Save. If you changed the puzzle dimensions, repeat Step 4 to add images to the new image placeholders.
Step 6. Resize and position
Click and drag the corner of the component to resize it. Click and drag the component to re position it on the canvas.
Step 7. Preview and save
Click the Preview button to see how it will appear when a user is taking your assessment and then click Save once you're happy with your Matching component.
