Step 1. Go to canvas
Click Item Bank or Assessment in the sidebar. Select a folder in the index to open it and click the plus icon on the top right of the page or click the name of an existing item/assessment name to edit it. The toolbar and canvas opens on a new page.
Step 2. Drag component
Click and drag the Numeric icon from the toolbar onto the canvas. If you're on the Assessment canvas, click the Components tab in the toolbar first to access the Numeric icon.
Step 3. Set properties
Click the number box on the canvas and then click the pencil icon that appears beside it to open an overlay. Enter "0", "1", or "2" in the Decimal Value field. For example, if you're asking a question about money, the decimal value would be 2 so you could include dollars and cents. Next, enter the minimum and maximum values. Test takers won't be able to submit answers lower or higher than these values. Make sure these include the number of digits after the decimal that you set in the decimal value.
Step 4. Enter correct answer
Enter the correct answer to your question. Make sure to include the number of digits after the decimal that you set in the decimal value. Click Save to close the overlay.
Step 5. Resize and position
Click and drag the corner of the number box to resize the width. Click and drag the number box to re position it on the canvas.
Step 6. Preview and save
Click the Preview button to see how it will appear when a user is taking your assessment and then click Save once you're happy with your Numeric component.
You could use multiple number boxes for one question like the example below.
