Before you begin
A job profile is similar to a job description. A job description lists tasks and responsibilities. A competency-based job profile defines the job expectations in terms of observable employee behaviours. A job profile may include core competencies (competencies that are shared by everyone in the organization), job-family competencies (competencies that are shared by employees in a department or group), and job-specific competencies that a successful employee needs to demonstrate when performing a job.
You might want to view your own job profile or browse job profiles for other jobs in your organization for personal evaluation or professional improvement.
In this article, you'll learn how to:
- Navigate job profiles.
- Understand how job profiles are set up.
- Export job profiles to PDF or Word.
- Search for job profiles.
Finding my way around
All of your job profiles are stored in Jobs. Click the menu icon on the top left corner of your screen and then click Job Profiles in the main menu to access them. You'll see an index and you can click a job group to expand the list of job profiles in that group.
From the index, you can click a job profile to open it and see the summary and associated library items. If you're viewing the job profile in Library mode, the competencies are organized by library.
If you're viewing the job profile in Architecture mode, the competencies are organized by core, job family, and job specific competencies.
You can click a competency name to see its description, proficiency levels, notions, and behavioural indicators.
Exporting job profiles
Point to the download icon and choose Export to PDF or Export to Word to save the job profile. The file downloads in your browser and is stored in your default Downloads location.
Searching for job profiles
Enter a keyword in the search bar at the top of top of the page and press Enter. You'll see a list of job profiles that include that keyword. Find the profile you want to take a closer look at, point to the gear icon , and choose View.
