1 Overall time limit
The pages in a test can be organized into sections. There are three types of sections: Introduction, Normal, and Conclusion. You can optionally assign an overall time limit to the test. This time limit applies to all Normal sections. All sections on your test are Normal by default. But you can change the type of the first and last sections to "Introduction" and "Conclusion" to exclude them from the overall time limit.
The timer does not start counting down until the user enters a Normal section. If they move back to the Introduction or arrive at the Conclusion, the test timer doesn't stop. Once time runs out, the Conclusion opens and the user cannot return to a Normal section. If there is no Conclusion, the test ends.
2 Section time limits
Each Normal section can also have its own time limit. Time limits cannot be assigned to the Introduction or Conclusion. Section time limits are included within the overall time limit. The test timer continues to count down while the section timer counts down. Once a section time limit is complete, the pages in that section are no longer accessible.
